Interviews

Your secondary application will be reviewed independently by the School of Medicine and the MSTP. This year, we will continue to hold interviews virtually via Zoom. The SOM will hold an information session that you will attend prior to your interviews. If chosen for an MSTP interview, you will meet with the SOM on one day, followed by the MSTP on the second day. Our MSTP interview process includes individual meetings with two faculty members from our MSTP Council and with two other graduate faculty members whose research interests are similar to your own. You will be asked to submit a list of 8-10 graduate faculty with whom you are interested in meeting. You will also meet with our Administrative Director and with current MSTP students, who will be happy to answer your questions about the MSTP and about life in San Francisco.

The UCSF SOM & MSTP interview dates for 2026-27 applicants are listed below. 

Basic science candidates will be interviewed on all listed dates. Medical Anthropology candidates will be interviewed only on January 25-26.
